Outreach and Mission
South Berwick Food Pantry – we volunteer at the Food Pantry in several ways; by collecting food throughout the year, collecting food from Hannaford and delivering it to the Pantry on Thursday mornings and serving at the Food Pantry once a month on Thursday evenings. If you’re interested in helping out please contact Dave Stansfield, Liz Dowd or Pastor Linda (email fpfc.org@gmail.com and we’ll get you to the right person). Salvation Army Dinner – a group of dedicated volunteers serves at the Salvation Army in Portsmouth every six weeks. They are always looking for new folks to help. Contact Harland Goodwin (by emailing the church) and we’ll get you started. Daisy’s Children – is an incredible ministry begun by Sharon Beckwith, a member of FPFC. Sharon works to bring food, care and hope to the children in a remote village in Honduras and we support her through our financial gifts and by organizing mission trips to serve with her. Contact Sharon Beckwith by going to her link for more information. http://daisyschildren.org Sr. Youth Group Mission Trip – Our high school youth, led by their wonderful Youth Group Advisors: Lucy & Charlie Putnam, Janet Conroy and Julia and Mike Ouellete, embark on a mission trip every summer to put their faith in action and show God’s amazing love and grace to everyone they meet. Places they have traveled to in the past include: Staten Island, NY, Cherryfield, ME, Church World Service, MD, inner city Boston and many more. Each fall they offer a presentation to the congregation during worship which continues to amaze and inspire us all. Yankee Thrift Store – a wonderful ministry that serves our community by offering good used clothing at ridiculously low prices and then turns their profits into caring for those in need in many, many ways. Volunteers are always welcome! Contact Pam Precourt for more info (email the church!) Deacons Fund – our Deacon fund, administered by the Pastor, helps people in need in our community. You can give to the Deacons Fund any time, in church or by dropping a check in the mail. Your gift is greatly appreciated! Other opportunities for mission and outreach pop up through the year – we promise to keep you posted. Just check the Latest News for what’s coming up. |
