The Christian Education Committee models the ministry of Christ through striving to instill the importance of fellowship and mission work in each individual of our Church.  Our focus remains in promoting and providing Christian Education programs for all Church groups, such as, but not limited to, coordinating Sunday School, as well as recommending Sunday School curriculum, planning and delivery of  Vacation Bible School, and the children's activities within the Advent and Lent Simple Supper series.

Our purpose is to appeal to and welcome those community members that wish to participate in Christian Education activities, as well as to aide and support the greater community around us through our mission work.  As always, our hope is to create a dynamic program that appeals to individuals and families, while enhancing spiritual growth.  Our goal is to fill our Christian Education classrooms each Sunday!

We who are called to be Deacons at First Parish Federated Church are expected to be the servant leaders of our church.  After all, the word ‘deacon’ derives from the Greek ‘diakonos’ meaning servant or waiter.  As such, we assist the pastor with preparations for worship and the sacraments of Communion and Baptism.  We literally wait upon the congregation as we serve the bread and wine of Communion.  Our calling also includes ministry in the greater community, proclaiming and teaching God’s word.  In addition, we serve those who are unable to attend worship by visiting and ministering to their unique needs.  Having been called to be a deacon, one serves this calling with honor and having served faithfully one becomes a stronger Christian.
